Lunchroom Banter (Volume XVIII)

by Dave Tufts - November 17, 2008 / 3:47pm View more articles

  1. Fred: How's the data-entry going?
  2. Dave: Great. I spend half my time entering data, and half complaining to Patrick
  3. Fred: That sounds like my day...every day. That's how I roll.

What you'll notice is that in both scenarios I suffer.

I noticed that some of your sites aren't using flash anymore, i.e. Seacoast Science, Wolf and Co., MSCPA, etc. Whats the reason for it? better SEO perhaps?

*Keep up the good work guys* :)

@Steve

Those sites still use flash. I wonder if you have flash or JS disabled? Instead of prompting the user to install flash, we typically degrade gracefully -- showing all the links and info with a still image.

Dave:
I'm using Firefox's latest version (w/ Flash 10 on XP Pro) and JS enabled - no luck. I opened these sites on my laptop running Firefox latest version (w/ Flash 10 on Vista Home Premium) and JS enabled - still no luck. However, they seem to run just fine on Mac w/ Firefox.

Perhaps the JS needs to be updated or something...
