Metro Credit Union, Massachusetts's largest state-chartered credit union, is one of our longest-standing Imarc partners. Recently, one of our main contacts there asked if we could add the Craft CMS calendar plugin to their Imarc-designed and maintained website so that they could more easily promote and drive event registrations for their finance-focused educational seminars and events.
Metro’s goal in adding the Craft CMS calendar plugin was to put greater emphasis on their seminars and events—both to better serve members and to drive revenue for Metro. However, the existing area that housed those elements didn't provide the best user experience. It functioned like a long list when there were multiple dates for a type of seminar, and Metro knew the experience could be improved by implementing a more traditional calendar look.
Imarc was tasked with integrating a plugin that would promote a positive user experience and drive more member registrations.
Our creative team produced mobile and desktop mockups to showcase how it should look and feel to external users. Specifically, filter categories were added for easier navigation, dots were utilized within calendar boxes to indicate scheduled events, and the design was set up to make the visual experience on-brand with the rest of the site.
Behind the scenes, our development team completed the plugin integration and went a step further, adding a new rich text feature within the pop-up modal to give users more context prior to requiring registration.
The new calendar experience was deployed on January 30, and notable success has already been recognized.
Since the launch of the new event page layout, there has been a 30.83% increase in page traffic (December 1, 2024-January 31, 2025 versus February 1, 2025-March 31, 2025). Registration button clicks have increased significantly highlighting the value of a more intuitive event experience.
From February 1, 2025, to April 15, 2025, the conversion/click rate on the registration button was 2.2% and shortly after, from April 15, 2025, to June 25, 2025, it increased to 18.1%!
The new calendar plugin has been a fantastic addition to our site. It’s made it easier for visitors to find and explore our events, and the overall experience feels much more intuitive and engaging. We’ve received great feedback from users, noticed an uptick in event sign-ups, and the implementation process was smooth from start to finish.
