Founded in 2009, Flywire is a global payment solution and disruptor in the fintech industry. Flywire came to Imarc looking to refresh the visual design and improve the user experience of their website. Their key goals for the new site were to be more modern, attract top talent, deliver content intuitively, and engage users to help increase and nurture leads. In addition, the new site needed to communicate the value Flywire delivers to its customers.
Strategy and Planning
Testing for differentiators
In order to promote Flywire as a fintech leader, Imarc wanted to highlight its key differentiators, industry offerings, and customer success. We provided two rounds of user testing to assess areas of improvement and ensure a thorough review. With Flywire as key payment service in more than just the education sector, Imarc ensured that all verticals were given equal weight of importance throughout the site. Imarc also set up click tracking events within their Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics instances, such as events like “Make a Payment”.
A Strategic UX
Imarc provided valuable, strategic insight to help fuel Flywire’s growth. It was imperative to position the company for further success and engage key target audiences by incorporating best practices in both user-centric and visual design. Imarc’s UX team worked closely with the Creative team to make sure the homepage hero animation was smooth and exactly as expected. Given that the site is translated into seven different languages, the UX team had to ensure that all of the CMS styles and content blocks could accommodate the different languages.
Custom iconography + curated photography
Imarc helped to nurture and support Flywire’s global audience by designing and developing the site to support localized content and imagery. To help the Flywire team visualize the animations, our Creative team presented animated demos to bring the concept to life. Imarc also created over 50 custom icons to be used throughout the site.
Efficiency via APIs
To improve internal efficiency and support the sales process, Imarc integrated the new site with Flywire’s third-party systems including Marketo, Drift, and Google Analytics. The site’s Make a Payment page is integrated with Flywire’s API, while the Careers page is integrated with two additional API sources: SmartRecruiters and Ruutly. The site was developed on the easy-to-use Craft 3 content management system (CMS). The Craft CMS allows the site to be translated into seven different languages, helps speed up site maintenance, and enables Flywire’s non-technical staff to easily edit content site wide.
Our Shared Vision
Together, Imarc and Flywire have converted their site into a demand generation platform by maximizing the impact of Flywire’s digital assets including its events, webinars, case studies, insights and trends, inside Flywire, and newsroom.
