Our Approach

With our 25+ years of experience, our engagement with you is flexible, scalable, agile, and thoughtful.

Partnering with Imarc gives you a team of marketing professionals ready to turn your business goals into reality. Come to us with your business goals, objectives, and questions. We bring our expertise and consultative approach to overcome your most pressing marketing challenges.

We believe our clients see the best ROI when…

Human expertise, analysis, and creativity drive our solutions.

Every deliverable is informed by a deep understanding of our clients' business needs, challenges, and market landscape.

We view websites and campaigns as long-term investments and iterate together with our clients to build new victories on past successes.

We use AI as a creativity intensifier and production accelerator, not a decision-maker or limiter of our vision.

The Imarc Difference

  • 1.

We involve senior practitioners from the beginning and stay involved—the A-team who pitches you are the anchors of your project team.

  • 2.

We’re dedicated problem-solvers. We build custom campaigns, websites, and applications using repeatable building blocks, so you get a bespoke solution quickly.

  • 3.

We’re polite challengers, not yes-people—we make sure a request fits bigger business goals, and then we get it done.

Our process is streamlined and iterative.

Your Service Team Assembles

Consistency and Continuity

First, we assign your team, which typically includes: Director of Accounts, Project Manager, Strategist, UX and Design support, Engineers, and a Marketing and Optimization specialist.

Kick Off Discovery

Our Questions for You

We start with a kickoff to meet your team, learn about your perspective, and discuss questions like:

  • What are your business goals?
  • What major questions and concerns do you have about your current marketing presence?
  • Which other companies’ marketing inspires and challenges you?
  • How will we measure success?
  • and many more!

We continue this process by performing independent research, competitive baselining, reviewing analytics, and stakeholder interviews, so we can provide you with the insights that inform our strategy.

Strategy and Creative

Design that Drives Demand

Once we understand who you are, and who your customers, competitors, and prospects are, we create a strategy for how to reach them, and a roadmap for how to achieve it. Strategy synthesizes research, analysis, and client feedback, and delivers digital design.

During this phase, we present findings and recommendations for review, and iterate based on your feedback. Each deliverable builds on the last: discovery and competitive analysis inform customer personas, personas shape user journeys, user journeys guide the experience design, and we document the resulting requirements for engineering implementation.

Or it might look like: business goals leading to a conversion rate optimization plan that informs a campaign strategy, design, and content, then realized by Imarc’s performance marketing team.

Paul Kelley

Curiosity is the catalyst for creativity. It allows us to look below the surface, develop understanding, uncover opportunity, and harness the inspiration to seize it.

Paul KelleyCreative Director, Imarc

Deliverables include:
customer personas, audit reports, conversion rate optimization plans, competitive analysis reports, project plans, sitemaps, user experience designs, clickable prototypes, brand identity, functional requirements documents, and more.

Production and Development

Efficient Solutions and ROI-generating Campaigns

Next, we build it. We turn designs, prototypes, and functional requirements into a working website, campaign, or application that will be ready for customers on day one. Imarc’s entirely US-based production team is efficient with your investment and responsive to your needs.

In developing any digital experience, Imarc’s engineers ensure it meets accessibility needs, loads speedily, and flexes responsively between desktop, mobile and other form factors. We will recommend a content management system and customize it to be quick and intuitive for your editors and administrators.

We integrate with third party applications, services, and content providers including search tools, job boards, and CRM solutions. We implement analytics tools like GTM, customizing for specific conversion funnels and tracking events. We build flexibly, for future needs such as adding new sections and microsites, enabling internationalization and localization, or changing brand guidelines.

Our engineers use AI tools to speed up delivery, while our human brains maintain a holistic understanding of your tech and marketing infrastructure so new features compliment and leverage existing ones.

Jeff Turcotte

AI is an amplifier. What a business does badly, it makes worse. What a business does well, it makes better.

Jeff TurcotteDirector of Engineering, Imarc

Deliverables include:
a website, an ad campaign, a fully customized content management system, marketing collateral, an intranet, a digital asset manager, an application, and more.

Measurement and Iteration

Build success from success

We learn through testing and measurement. We improve through iteration.

86% of our clients stay with us after the initial project launch. We use KPI dashboards, analytics, and A/B testing to propose enhancements to your websites, campaigns, and applications. In this phase, our agile ideation and development cycles lead to quick additional wins.

At this point, Imarc’s ability to add value is multiplied further. The future depends on your evolving business needs.

A new product launch demands a new microsite. A marketing funnel for one segment generates more leads, and suggests improvements for other funnels.

A dashboard of blog performance stats leads to insights about what subjects are most interesting to visitors. A campaign refresh incorporates those subjects. A new customer segment is unlocked.

Karin Rio

Our agency does not chase the easy wins, we measure progress by facing challenges presented, embracing the complexity of growth, and bringing grit to continually improve metrics that matter.

Karin RioDirector of Strategy, Imarc

Deliverables include:
an analytics dashboard, analytics reports, a feature roadmap, a content calendar, keyword reports, and more.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do strategy, design, development, and marketing work together?

When we build a project team, that team stays together through launch and beyond. This means no lost time from onboarding new people, and your team becomes an expert in your business. We make sure that each discipline informs all of the others, so everything we design executes the strategy and can be built within budget. Our initial research drives the UX and design, which supports the customer journey. We transform these designs into highly performant, accessible digital experiences that educate, convert, and engage users. After launch, we focus on raising awareness of your new online experience, and generating demand for your offerings.

How do you keep projects on budget?

By making sure each discipline has input at each phase of the project, the team's Project Manager and Account Coordinator are able to keep timelines and budgets on time and on target. Our estimates leave room for some changes in requirements, and when necessary, we will inform you immediately if a request requires a change to the scope.

A phased approach can often help make sure an initial project launches quickly and within budget, leaving important but less vital features to Phase 2. Many of our clients transition to retainers which enables a steady pace of site enhancements and additional wins.

How do you handle prioritization and change requests?

Our decades of experience allow us to estimate projects accurately, but occasionally we learn of new requirements during the process. If these necessitate a scope change, we will communicate that and work with you to figure out how to shift priorities to stay within budget, add the new requirement to Phase 2, or provide a Change Order.

What’s a typical timeline for a website redesign?

The timeline for a website redesign varies greatly based on the size of the project, but the typical redesign will take 4-6 months to complete. This includes providing you with a full-featured, flexible content management system for keeping the website updated. On the shorter end, a 3-month project could redesign a smaller website, focusing on a few specific user funnels, with quick timelines for reviews. We've also taken on massive 18-month projects, redesigning very large websites with complex functionality, migrating tens of thousands of pages into a new content management system, integrating with multiple APIs, and coordinating buy-in from many client teams and vendors.

How do communication and governance work?

You will work closely with one of our Directors of Accounts, seasoned marketing professionals who are veterans of hundreds of digital projects. We will communicate with you frequently through ongoing status meetings, timely email updates, documents that show progress and timelines, and a dashboard of features in progress.

About now and then

We’ve been building websites and everything that touches those digital worlds since 1997. Our team knows how to build, but more importantly, we think strategically beyond the build we’re executing.

During our collaborative journey, we get to know our clients deeply, allowing us to see the full shape of what will make them successful. This approach has resulted in many projects from the same leaders, who moved on to new companies. And that’s also why our first client from the 90s is still with us today.
