A time to give thanks (it's always time)
10 minute read
There have been many ups and downs lately (to be honest, since 2020), but year-round, there is still a lot to be thankful for. As it's the season of thanks and warm, fuzzy feelings, we compiled some of the things our digital agency team is grateful for.
For so very much
"I am so grateful for my children, who are thriving despite the challenges that they have faced this year.
"I am thankful for my friends and family who have reached out and supported me during a very difficult time.
"I am thankful for long dog walks in the woods with my pup.
"I am thankful that we caught my cancer early, and the divine intervention that timed my mammogram just right.
"I am thankful for a healthy body that is actively helping me to fight this disease.
"I am thankful for my Imarc family, who have held me up and celebrated my wins with me. You have no idea how much this means to me and keeps me constantly moving forward." –Katie Desmond, CRO
Those around me
"I'm so thankful for Katie's health and her strength through the years we've known each other! My bold, beautiful family, the best of friends, and this company filled with smart people that I absolutely adore. And I'm thankful for all the fun we have together and the support we give each other." –Karin Rio, Director of Strategy
Simple pleasures all around
"I’m grateful for friends and family who fill my days with laughter, the hot coffee that keeps me moving, the books that pull me into new worlds, and my snuggly puppies who love unconditionally." –Rachel Lemieux, Senior Art Director
Unplugging and recharging
“I’m grateful to work at a place that encourages taking time to truly unplug and recharge—and even more grateful that it allowed me to spend meaningful, quality time visiting my family at their new home in Florida.” –Maribeth Fitzpatrick, Director of Front-end Engineering
Flexibility to reach goals
"I’m grateful to work with a team of leaders who truly value individual goals. As a soon-to-be mom of three, I’m still able to pursue my career ambitions thanks to a supportive environment that empowers working parents to achieve both professional fulfillment and the flexibility they need most." –Lily McAloon, Account Director
Work-life balance
"I am thankful for the work-life balance I’ve created, one that gives me the space to pursue work I truly enjoy while also allowing the things I love in my life to naturally flow into what I do professionally. I’m grateful that my days are filled with both purpose and joy, and that I can grow, create, and contribute without sacrificing the experiences, passions, and relationships that matter most to me." –Austin Fishbaugh,
The past, present, and future
"I'm thankful for the decades of effort from our colleagues—past and present—that built the Imarc we have today. I'm more cognizant than ever of how resilient Imarc is thanks to our predecessors, and I am honored to keep the momentum going." –Patrick McPhail, CEO
Health and a wealth of blessings
"I’m thankful for good health, a fulfilling career, the patience of my wife, the comfort of my cats, and a life that allows for time to rest and enjoy the moments that matter." –James Eversole, Principal Systems Administrator
Support for creativity
"I’m grateful that our workplace supports creativity and new ideas in ways that allow us to continually improve. It keeps our work fresh, engaging, and always moving forward. We all benefit in an environment where people can express themselves to their fullest." –Jeff Turcotte, Director of Engineering
Bing brave
"I'm thankful that I've found a place that has so many amazing weirdos that aren't afraid to unabashedly be themselves." –Mike Jandreau, Senior Front-end Engineer
The ability to give back
"I'm really grateful to be in a position to volunteer for our community on Imarc's behalf. I believe strongly in volunteerism, but not everyone can donate time in a way that aligns with their life. I'm happy to be working somewhere that prioritizes this. It makes me feel good to be there for others when I can." –Gillian Barnes, Senior Content Strategist
And of course, we are thankful to you. For reading our thoughts, for engaging with our team, and for giving us challenging work that inspires us.
Maya Angelou once said, “Be present in all things and thankful for all things.” It's good advice, and we intend to follow it.
