Why digital marketing agencies need to provide tangible results
10 minute read
Results. Value. Growth. Marketing ROI. Digital marketing agencies are famous for using these words without quantifying them. They'll sweep you up in a sweet story of how they helped a brand improve their B2B presence and increase their [insert nebulous item here]. But none of it means anything without numbers.
If Katie Desmond is the hunter who seeks out the perfect prospect and earns their attention, I am the one she hands the project to, allocating hours and resourcing so that the work she pulls in is executed well every time.
I do this well because I'm the kind of person who receives a FREAK IN THE SHEETS mug (thanks, Katie) at our annual holiday swap (...meaning Google Sheets, but I also love a good Smartsheet).
I embrace this because that grounding serves us well. It mitigates over-promising and helps us stay focused on what we are fundamentally trying to achieve: performance. The boring stuff all rolls up into that; accurate projections on revenue and expenses, on project workload, and the nature of the work, all allow us to continually optimize our performance as a company. The same is true for the websites we build: the stats (projected and actual) all coalesce into a picture of how well the site is or will work.
But this isn't about us, this is about, this is about you. This is me telling you not to fall for a flash in the pan when you can choose a partner that will deliver meaningful, data-driven wins.
Here's where you don't believe me, right? It's okay. Fear not. I have PROOF!

2. Intellect

3. Precisely
Precisely needed to differentiate themselves in a crowded market. We answered their ask with our "Meant to Be" campaign concept. After rolling it out, Precisely conducted their annual brand awareness survey, noting an increase in unaided awareness of 133% and aided awareness of 3% from 2023 to 2024.
4. AACSB & Beacon Hill
We run both AACSB's and Beacon Hill's paid media content campaigns. In Beacon Hill's case, we also create their content.
Between July 1, 2023, and June 23, 2024, AACSB saw a 34% increase in sessions, a 46% increase in users, a 43% increase in average engagement time, a 43% increase in new users, and a 224% increase in the engagement rate from their paid media content campaign.
Through a combination of strong SEO-optimized writing and paid media, Beacon Hill recognized a 189% increase in page views, a 313% increase in website users, and a 12% decrease in bounce rate compared to the previous year. It also recognized a 218% increase in events on resource pages completed in FY24.
Specific to their paid media content campaign, they saw a 3% in clicks, a 50% in the average click-through rate (CTR), and a 31% increase in conversion value between June 1, 2023, and June 1, 2024.
5. Tufts Medical Center
We built AI efficiency into Tufts Medical Center's CEA Registry. This innovation has reduced the time per manual review from 5-10 minutes of researcher time to just seconds. Their new AI solution is highly accurate (with human refinement), affordable, and scalable.
6. Marriott
Imarc builds tools for unique purposes. In Marriott's case, we created the Marriott Impact Report (MIR) that pulls event and meeting data from the Marriott catering system, hotel data from their property data catalog, and energy and water usage data from their utility partner. Once drawn together, the data is aggregated into an intuitive system that hotel associates can use to quantify and offset carbon generation through the SouthPole integration.
Right from the start, it included 700,000 global meetings equating to 3,000kg of carbon, necessitating a hypothetical carbon offset that could amount to 2.1M metric tons. Since its launch, it has grown exponentially, and as of today, we're nearing one million meetings. The system continues to analyze new meetings and offer appropriate carbon offsets to their customers.
7. DataRobot
After completing a website refresh to further their recent rebrand, they earned a 4.27% increase in sessions (a 12.89% increase to homepage and a 7.88% increase to the Japan site), a 0.25% increase in users, and a 5.36% landing page form submissions (metrics sourced from November 11, 2024 - February 13, 2025 versus August 5, 2024 - November 7, 2024).
8. Coalfire
We completely redesigned Coalfire's website in 2024. Since the website launched, it has been highly performant. In particular, Coalfire's new site’s Assessment Services page significantly outpaced its previous Compliance Services page with a 566% increase in views, a 447% increase in sessions, and a 396% increase in users (metrics sourced in March 2024).
9. Skillsoft
Translations are time-consuming and costly. That used to be the case for Skillsoft, but we changed that for them. We seamlessly integrated ChatGPT into their Craft 4 instance, taking their per-page production time from three hours to just three minutes, and their cost from $120 per page to a mere $1.85.
10. BlueVoyant
This one's an oldie, but a goodie. In their own words, "We were able to see a huge increase YoY in our demo/contact inquiries. From 2021 to 2022, we saw a 20% increase. After we rebuilt the site, we were able to see a 33% increase in inbound requests from 2022 to 2023."
